In 1997 Project START provided funding to Project PAACS (Postsecondary Accommodation for Academic and Career Success) at Mississippi State University to assist in the creation of "College Students with Disabilities and Assistive Technology: A Desk Reference Guide". In 1998, Project PAACS, led by Director Anne R. Thompson followed up with the "Students With Disabilities and Assistive Technology: A Desk Reference Guide". These Student Guides were designed to help Special Education teachers, School Counselors, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, Students and Families as they sought information about assistive technology in regards to educational opportunities.
