| Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors are the current standard. A monitor size (eg. 19" monitor) indicates the diagonal viewing area. | |
| Flat Panels, LCD or TFT, are the latest development. They have a reduced foot print, run cooler, and do not present disposal issues. | |
Printers |

| InkJet Printers are the least expensive. Ink is heated and the bubble is forced through a jet and is sprayed onto the paper. In the long run, these printers have a high cost of ownership due to the expense of buying new ink cartridges often. |  |
| Laser Printers are more expensive to purchase. However, the TCO (total cost of ownership) is lowered because toner cartridges last longer. The quality of print is generally much better. |  |
